Crystal and I had a great Friday night. We had reservations for a fancy dinner at Piedmont in Durham, which I just realized posts its daily menu through Blogger. I had the “spring vegetable risotto with baby fennel, asparagus, artichokes, peas & goat cheese” and Crystal had “fresh tagliatelle with local peas, prosciutto, truffle butter & parmesan.” Both were richly stupid with flavor.
Afterward, we walked up the street to Man Bites Dog Theater to see Fistful of Love, an erotic musical. That sounds way more out there than we are, but it kind of stretched the limit - in a good way. Our friend Monica was in it, and she was pretty amazing as a terrifyingly tense bride. Dr. Dre and Daniel Johnston songs were used. Highly recommended.
